Introduction
I am 33, my husband is 37. I have two children from before my marriage. I was a young, single mother and after my daughter decided I didn't want any more children. So, I had my tubes tied. Ten years later I met my husband and decided I wanted to create a child with him. We found a great doctor and had the procedure reversed. We started TTC August, 2005 but within a few months learned that I had PCOS and wasn't ovulating on my own.

Tests, Procedures, Medical consultations
After four months of TTC, only two of which I ovulated, we decided to see a specialist. I found one of the best reproductive endochronologists in our area and have been seeing her ever since. The first thing she did was put me on Metformin for the PCOS and started me on clomid.

The clomid worked, we got pregnant that first month - unfortunately it ended in miscarriage. We did two more cycles of clomid and got pregnant on both - one ended in a miscarriage the other was ectopic. At that point our RE did all the blood work for repeat miscarriage, which came back normal. I also did the clomid challange, which was also normal. Basically, she couldn't tell us why we were miscarrying. Her advice was to keep trying until we got a good one.

Well, I tested today at 9DPO and got a positive. There is no telling if this one will stick or not. I can only hope.

Trying-to-Conceive (TTC) experience
I was always fertile and we thought that as soon as we had the reversal we'd be pregnant. I knew that having had the surgery reduced our chances but given how easy it had been for me to get pregnant in the past we really didn't think it would be an issue. If anything we thought it would take some time to get pregnant but once we did it would be fine. Unfortunately, we found out that getting pregnant wasn't the hard part for us - staying pregnant was.

For me it was hard, I often wondered why me? Why us? What did I/we do to deserve this? My husband has steadily maintained that it will happen for us. He has never doubted that and I am hopeful that this pregnancy will be the one to prove him right.

I'm lucky in that the doctor that did my reversal has a message board for his patients so I've had a place to go and bond with women that have been through the same things as I have. Some of them get pregnant right after their surgery but many struggle the way I have.

Charting Experience
FF has been great, if I hadn't used this website it would have taken me a lot longer to learn that I wasn't ovulating. Between FF, OPKs and my RE I've also learned how to pinpoint ovulation which has given us the best chances at getting pregnant each cycle.

The Internet
The Internet has been great - both because I found this site and as a resource. I've been able to do research any time I've had a question. I've also found great support online from other women going through similar experiences.

Other Thoughts?
This has been one of the hardest things I've ever experienced. I'm grateful to live in an age where there is the medical science and technology to help.

I honestly hope that any one out there reading my story has an easier time of it. If not, then know you are not alone.
